On May 4, City Council unanimously approved the design of Urban Confluence's design contest: Breeze of Innovation. This is only a first step: shovels aren't going into the ground just yet.
The folks at Urban Confluence will be working with City staff — and paying for their time — and returning to Council in 120 days with a work plan. They will also be responsible for finding ways to mitigate light impacts on wildlife, airport operations, and nearby neighborhoods when the Environmental Impact Report comes to the City Council for certification. There will be another vote to approve later.
If you'd like to learn more about Matt's perspective on the project, check out this clip from our City Council recap video.
